Gitzo Re-Invents the Aluminium Tripod
Gitzo have revisited from Redesigned from the ground up, Gitzo have integrated advanced materials and production techniques to develop two amazing new aluminium tripods. Key to the design is the top casting, made from a brand new material called Soulid 238, a technical compound that’s 30% lighter than magnesium, but just as strong, and with great vibration dampening properties. The new casting is coupled with a Basalt fibre centre column, a material 20% lighter than aluminium, for extra weight reduction and to further improve stabilisation and performance. Even the leg warmers been touched by technology. Now incredibly light and soft to touch, the injection moulded silicone is more durable than foam, and its ergonomic shape maximises grip and carrying comfort. Available in May, the aluminium tripods will be available in two guises. The GT2330 will offer 3-section legs, and a maximum working height of 164cm. Capable of supporting up to 9kg of kit, it weighs just 1.78kg itself. Guide prices for the new models are £229 for the GT2330, and £289 for the GT2340L, making Gitzo quality and professional performance accessible to a wider audience than ever before. Gitzo have recently appointed 5 Star dealers across the UK, where you’ll be able to get a full demonstration of the new Aluminium tripods.
