 Malcolm Birkitt biography Born in Yorkshire, Malcolm originally trained as an architect before becoming a successful writer and photographer. He studied photography in Edinburgh and ran his own business in Scotland before joining EMAP in 1979. Here he went on to edit two national photographic titles before leaving to explore freelance opportunities in 1985. He now works for a wide range of corporate and commercial clients dotted around the UK, and has often traveled abroad on commissions. Malcolm has also contributed words and pictures to many publications, such as Practical Photography, Country Walking and Garden Answers, as well as being the author of several motorcycle and car titles. He is currently working on a book series project with a leading garden designer and continues to enjoy the everyday variety and challenges of freelancing. He now lives in Warwickshire.
